Hello! – Very nice work today!

*YANA stopped by today. Great job pulling all the research together – Presenters: beautifully presented!
You can view all the research files here: YANA-PRESENTAION

For those of you who missed class. There were several points YANA clarified about the direction to take. We will try to recap at the beginning of next week.

DUE (today)

  • existing Logotypes, Symbols, Pictograms – that can be looked at for inspiration

  • photo reference

2. 15 rough sketches of possible ideas for the logo, (thumbnail sketches are ok). All work must be done with pen/pencil on paper –NO COMPUTER.
3. Two sketches render them in illustrator using some of the techniques we have covered in the last few weeks. Work must be in black and white.

Homework
(Note* I did not receive everyone’s homework (sketches) today. If you showed me your sketch work your good – but if you did not show me in class or save them into my folder – email me a low-res jpg before the weekend!)

1. Refine logo sketches based on what was discussed today – continue with the two renderings I asked for this week. You should show them in Black and White – but can start to work on a version in color.
2. Read: http://www.1stwebdesigner.com/inspiration/infographics-tips-resources/
3. Please send me a brief email answering the following four questions (mhitchings@citytech.cuny.edu):
a. What was most helpful about meeting with YANA today?
b. What was the most surprising thing they said?
c. Did you forget to ask them anything?
d. Where you happy with how research was presented? Would you have done something differently in retrospect?

Thank you!
