Hello – welcome to week 2.

1. What it means to be a designer – visual communicator
2. Iconic and symbolic exploration (NY state fruit and vegetables)
3. Assignment: Choose one of the vegetables or fruits you have researched that grows in New York State. You will be asked to explore several different ways or rendering the produce using Adobe Illustrator

Homework
1. Design Teams: next week you will be partnered into groups of four and asked to visit Brooklyn Hall Farmers Market that meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays, in front of the courthouse.
In preparation of your visit, your group should come up with 10 questions to ask vendors in class today. Your goal will be to interview vendors and learn more about how the markets work. To get you started, here is a web link to the market:
