Week5 – ADV1162

On October 9, 2012, in Week5, by Genevieve HItchings

Hello class.

I hope you are enjoying the long weekend. Just a reminder that we will be meeting on Wednesday (usual time and room) this week. Please see the posting of Week4 for details about what is due. I will likely update this post tomorrow evening – so feel free to check back.

See you on Wednesday!

In-class
Due Today
1. Refined poster sketches based on what was discussed in class last week.
2. Refined moodboard -> the moodboard is a collage and must show evidence of historical research (even if you do not end up using what you site in your final poster). It proves to me (your client) that you researched and understand the subject matter you are designing for.
3. Assessment Worksheet –  hand paper in to me. You can download worksheet here: ADV1162_AssessmentWorksheet

Lesson in Illustrator
-> Review last class (PracticingBezierLine&Curves)
-> Type tools
-> Envelope distort (lesson-week5)

Labtime
Today we will work on creating the first draft of final poster. Project specs:
11×17″ (Tabloid size)
Resolution 300dpi
CMYK
Margins:.25″
Bleed:.25″

Homework
1. Continue to refine poster sketches – I would like to see those of yours who I did not see last week.
2. Keep refining your moodboard -> the moodboard is a collage and must show evidence of historical research (even if you do not end up using what you site in your final poster). It proves to me (your client) that you researched and understand the subject matter you are designing for. Your moodboard should help to define who your target audience is and what their life-style is like.
3. Assessment Worksheet –  this was due last week. I must receive from everyone next class (you will loose points for handing in late, but better late than not at all). You can download worksheet here: ADV1162_AssessmentWorksheet
