GRA3611 – Week15 (High Priority!)

Hello class,

Tomorrow will be our final class. Hard to believe!

Since tomorrow is upon us, please bring everything you need and we will go over tomorrow in class.

Sal Lopizzo will join us at 10:30AM for a final critique.

Please review the invitation for the MoMa show here (PDF): CityTechatMoMA-Invitation-TrimMarks

0. Stationery Template here: Stationery-template.ai

1. Check out this link to get a better sense of the space: http://www.moma.org/explore/inside_out/2013/04/11/moma-psi-vw-dome-2-rocking-my-rockaways/

2. We will talk about the production details in class next week. I hope to take care of most of the printing – certainly the posters, but for the stationery it might be to your benefit to print on your own. In any case we will fine tune those details next week.

3. Think ahead! What else might you need? Who might you want to invite? There is not much time to plan but it’s important to try and take full advantage of the opportunity.

4. Check out these awesome ideas found by Diellza for possible ways to present the work (in a space where there are no walls to hang work).

GRA3611 – Week14

Dear class,

I have a VERY exciting announcement to make:

MoMA P.S.1 Dome would like to present your work for YANA in the Rockaways!
There will be a brief presentation on how the project came about with a short Q&A. Tables will be set up for you to present and explain your work to guests.

http://www.momaps1.org/expo1/venue/vw-dome-2/

When: Saturday, June 8 form 2-5PM.

This is a very significant opportunity and I suggest you make every effort possible to attend – and make your final work outstanding!!

So, because of our very tight deadline I would like to optimize the last two classes to ensure that your work is complete and ready for show. For next weds, please bring everything that you have worked on for the class this semester:  this includes your rough thumbnail sketches, concept sketches, and the more recent pieces – identity design, style-guide, posters and postcards. Next week I would like to meet with each of you individually and make a clear check list to determine what you will present and what will need to be finalized before the deadline. So please have everything organized and ready to go on a thumb drive before you come to class, and bring all work you have printed as well. Here is and AI file of Veronica’s final logo. There are two FINAL versions of the YANA logo you can use either one: Final-Logo

Please Note:

  • For those of you that will be out of town, if you work is complete and ready to go I would be happy to present it for you.
  • I encourage you to bring your own business cards – if you don’t have any – make them!
  • If you have, you are also welcome to bring your portfolio
  • You are welcome to invite guests

Let me know if you have questions. Congratulations, having your work shown by the MOMA is a HUGE honor!

GRA3611 – Week13

Hello everyone,

In case you want to use for your poster here is the YANA logo designed by Veronica (thank you Veronica!). I have just sent to YANA and am waiting for the final approval.

YANA-VeronicaVelez-logo

On Weds posters should be printed out to size (11×17′) black and white is fine. If you want me to print yours I need to receive by Sunday night (tonight).

I will likely post a few more notes to this blog on Tuesday, so check back…

See you Weds!

GRA3611 – Week11 & 12

Hello everyone –

At long last announcing the new YANA logo:

The fact that it has taken so long for them to decide is an indication of how strong the design work is within the class. I congratulate you all. The three logos here represent the finalists.
